I went to Ipswich in the 80's as a young teen three times

there was always fighting in the park behind the ground

It really was a different era.

At FCR as a 9 year old I remember Norwich and Ipswich fighting on Carrow bridge, so bad the police couldn't contain it and none of the ordinary supporters couldn't get over the bridge
