I Know I'm Beating This Into the Ground

But could someone going to the AGM please ask what the fuk is up with the Academy? I keep hearing this lame excuse about we dont have a big enough catchment area? Is there something in the rules that prevents our scouts from recruiting overseas? I think not as we have Danish youths in our youth system but why not a raft of others from Europe or Africa? Is their something that restricts us from working the US for players? In another vein i've never understood the argument that Manchester and London based teams have way more young talent to choose from. How much of that talent actually comes thru their system to the field? I would argue very little as the big teams simply buy talent rather than develop it. Why are we not trying to scavage promising players from their youth systems who have little chance of coming thru but might very well have a shot with us. Just think this whole youth thing has been swept under the rug last 6 years. I remember specifically when Delia was spunking money years ago to get us into the Academy system. What has it really produced? Would love someone to ask that at the AGM as I think it is as big an issue as Worthy and more longstanding.
