You have to look at the season before as a marker to what worthy was really made of

Remember Reading at home 03. What a low that was

Then we were on sky the week after against portsmouth and needed to show some fire. We did in parts and it was better, and lost the game 3-2, but it showed that when money isn't always there for worthington, it turns sour

03/04 Carried on in the same way 02/03 did. Pretty appauling performances and Sheff Utd away and Forest the week after really signalled that the season was going to be poor

Luckilly the monday after the Forest game Huckerby and Crouch arrived, along with Harper

A few shakey games later and the rest of the division were scared of Huckerby. Crouch was also gaining confidence

By Christmas Delia had enough faith to buy Huckerby with her own money, and the club also put some faith into the title challenge by getting Leon and Svennson, two exceptional players (even though at the time people didn't warm to Matty cos he was a threat to Iwans place)

Things worked that season, boosts were there all the time, players hit form in bursts in the right games. But overall, huge quality was bought and they were better than the division.

In 04/05 Worthy got more money than he ever got, and he in the main wasted it. He bought

Charlton
Doc
Helveg
Jonson
Safri

Unluckily Safri got injured. But the rest. Doherty was played up front, Charlton at centre back and Helveg in midfield

None shone out of position and were dropped for months on end. The old rear guard was brought in, meaning Edworthy was first pick over Helveg at right back. Has anything sounded more stupid ever?

Charlton is a left back, and hardly ever played there. He even can't get a chance there now. A waste of money purely on the fact that Worthy has never used it properly

Doherty and Charlton didn't work alongside Flem, which is another story about how Flem was never going to get dropped. Doherty now shows that alongside Shackell or Davenport that they can be a very good centre back pairing

Helveg, well I just don't know why Worthy bothered. The only plus side to Helveg is he remained professional the whole time he was here and never once raised his voice over the s**t man management he had to be under. Fair enough his National coach did that for him, but I think Olsen had a point

Helveg got 6 games at right back, his position, and was awesome. Sadly that was too little too late and we went down

Safri, a player who worthy raves about this season as key. Well Mr W, it was only last season before the man utd game that you said you were playing him cos oyu didn't want anyone whinging that they didn't get a chance this season. That was the day you kind of hoping we'd lose to man utd, so you could mouth off that being a manager isn't as easy as others suggest. The changes you made against man utd, although they were done cos you had nothing else to lose and you were dying to have a go at people that knock you, They turned out to be the ones that won you the game

They didn't just win you the game, they gave this club a chance to stay in this division in 6 games, something you never showed in the previous 32 games before

Gary Holt, brilliant 01/02, alright 02/03. Wasn't that impressed 03/04 but then Huckerby was running the show by then

04/05 Sorrily outclassed and you were a mess, yet you still got picked. Another huge Worthington blunder

05/06 Money to spend, obvious problems in midfield that have been constantly mentioned and what did you do. You released Edworthy and Helveg and signed Louis Jean and Colin, along with Jason Jarrett, Marney on loan and Thorne up front. Hughes was your next gary holt, and we were hoping you had learnt

I though a couple of those might work out here, marney and Hughes maybe. But are they the players that take you up? Are they the midfield for everyone else to fear?

Did you sign a right midfielder with this money?

Was refusing 7.5 million for Ashton really a good idea? Look what we could have got with that

I admit worthington has brought some very times back to this club, but the clubs money also did that as well. It's very arguable that any manager could have acheived what we did with support from the board

It's time to go worthington. You could have maybe saved this year by plowing the odd 3 points here and there till christmas and then going for broke in the transfer market. The problem is, its only the beginning of November and you have just lost to one of the worst teams in the division, AT HOME!!!!!

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET SOMEONE ELSE IN, GIVE THEM THE MONEY IN JANUARY AND HOPEFULLY WE CAN SALVAGE SOMETHING FROM THIS SEASON
