no. that's what I mean by this was 'proper' science.

i.e. it was done by using statistical methods which take into account sample size. (Speaking as someone who has to do this stuff for a living.)

ie the 'extra red wins' was significant, given the sample size.

'course someone else might find a flaw in their work. But until they do, it's pretty strong evidence that there is an effect (although only a small one).
