Read on here (so might be bollocks) that Lambert resigned after waiting to speak

to someone from the club 3 hours after he made it clear he wanted permission to speak to Villa...

If that's the case, surely the board could say they were going to give him permission to speak to them, Lambert being Mr hot head thought they weren't going to, thus forcing their hand. Maybe that's where it's all got so messy...
