no way is it as simple as just paying off the remainder of the contract...
My current thought is that the money issue isn't what it would cost to pay him off, but the fact that I still think he's probably quite cheap in managerial terms, so any replacement, particularly of the kind of experience and quality that some are suggesting, would be too too expensive.
