FWIW I think any Manager who takes over at a club where the incumbent was as successful and popular as Lambert was on a hiding to nothing. Indeed, CH's job would have been far, far easier had Lambert failed, just as Lambert had the benefit of following up a host of poor appointments and disappointment-as good as a win-win situation.
The coaching staff are my concern at the club. In a footballing world where coaches are increasingly highly qualified and very progressive with experience of seeing how the game is coached and played all around the world, I do wonder if Messrs.Calderwood and Trollope are a little bit old school. Cully had the advantage of learning a lot about the game under Walker who was playing a sweeper system & Lambert had played and studied coaching abroad, but the current two...well, i don't know...
Wonder if their appointment was a condition for Hughton to take the job?
