An investment scheme that doesn't actually exist.

Investors get paid a return on their investment which is paid from the funds of new investors, and so on. I relies on a constant stream of new investors to keep it going, once that stops it all goes tits up and everyone finds out the bloke running it was trousering all the money.

That cricket bloke did a brilliant one. They all fail in the end.
