Turning to more positive thoughts: Leon Barnett's drastic improvement.

I've been a big critic of the bloke in the past but he's been very good so far this season. The only sniff of a costly mistake was his miscontrol in the second half today, but he recovered that really well.

Sure, he still can't pass to save his life, yet it seems as if he's trying to be a lot less elaborate with his distribution than he was last season. Now that he's sticking to what he's comfortable with we are witnessing far less silly mistakes, especially related to backpasses!

So, he's tighter defesively and far more self aware when concerning his limitations. Still early days but it's fantastic to witness a strong return from a player who was largely written off. Almost like a new signing!
