dunno if Canny will remember, but on a night out in Fetford in "The Plovver" on a summers night in 1987, I was tageted by 4 locals, who followed me into the loo's and beat me up....badly..... beacuse I was from "out of town" and wearing a lacoste tee shirt....

I took the beating, gave as good as I could get, before one of them saw that they were about to put me in hospital had they carried on, felt sorry for me and bundled me out of there.... I got a taxi straight back to Barnham Camp... where "Norn Iron Noel", "Mad Mick form Manchester" and "Italian Luigi" demanded to know who had done it, got a mob up and went into Fetford and hunted down the 4 who done it. Last I heard was one of the perpetrators was eating food through a straw for a month.

The locals never touched a squaddy again in my remaining 6 months there.
