well thats the thing...

the law is for both victims AND offenders....

once the law states you can shoot dead anyone entering and breaking into your property even if they dont pose a threat, that means guns and the law to have guns will mean its common to own a gun 9max protection within the law) which will only result in the burglars using the same guns they legally own to defend themselves when out comitting the crime....

result is same amount of burglaries but with higher injury and death rate.
