cats and sofas ok from what i see of friends' but i agree with USAC

think leather sofa's look nice but I find them cold and slippery.
I would also advise getting whatever you get from a 'proper' furniture store, not the s**t that the likes of DFS and SCS sell, which are mostly strong cardboard rather than wood.
