Birmingham Ticket Nightmare / Dodgy Refs

Right,

I said last night I was going to post this up, so here it is. (apologies for any typos, im doing this in notepad
and can't be arsed to proof read it)

I live in Birmingham so last night's game should have been the easiest of the season to get into, not so, it turned out.

I bought the tickets yesterday afternoon, four together, and asked to be in the away end. I repeated this at the end of the call because I thought my Birmingham post code might confuse the dimwit on the end of the phone. Definitely the away end.

I got to the ground at about 7.15 to pick the tickets up, I was going to go earlier, but events conspired against me. To my shock we went into the car park to see about 1000 people queuing up to either collect or buy tickets.

I did a bit of creative queuing and got quite near to the ticket office. This was about 7.40. There was absolute chaos.no-one knew what was going on, where to queue or whether there were tickets left. There was absolutely no steward presence and I was starting to feel a bit uneasy being the only Norwich fan in a huge crush of irate Brummies.

At about 8 a steward got on a megaphone and said "If you cannot get a ticket to tonight's game, we will sell you a ticket for the Everton match for ?10". Absolute insanity. Sod the Everton match, what about tonight's game!?

At about 8.20 I was inside the bit with the ticket windows. It was at this point the stewards decided to step in and try to set up a queuing system. Someone behind me called a head steward a 'daft t**t'. The steward looked at me. Since he thought it was me
anyway I thought I would voice my concerns...

"You should have sorted the queues out an hour ago"

"We didn't realise how many people there would be"

"You're a football club, you know how many people there are going to be...thousands!"

Aaaaanyway. I got to the window, and got my tickets. It was now 8.25. I went round to the away end, only to be told I had the wrong type of ticket. More specifically, a home ticket. In the Tilston Stand. So I went up to a steward at the ticket office and told him what had happened. To his credit, he was fantastic; he took me through the remaining crowd, straight up to a
window, told them what had happened and told them to sort my tickets. The odd thing was, I really recognised the woman who was sorting the tickets for me....it was Karen Brady. "Thanks Karen" i said, "No problem" said Karen. "Bit of a shambles isn't it" said I, "Yes" said she.

So, we went in at half time, only to have my blood pressure raised to dangerous levels by that ref. An absolute disgrace. As I said in an earlier post, I was with two friends who don't really know about football, they have no allegiance to Norwich and even they could see what a tosser he was.

So, all in all, a pain of a night...I'm going to write to them and ask for a refund, but I'm not holding my breath.
