Much like when an employee gets punted out on secondment to another company, they'd have to be reasonably happy with what's in store for them (clocking off time, quality of canteen, hotel minibar policy etc etc).

And it's probably even less career limiting for footballers to refuse to go on loan, can't imagine my boss being too impressed if I buggered up his plans to woo a client with a free employee for a few months...
