that circle a) won't understand, and b) will react positively for about a month, and will then become very negative towards the individual, because "they've got their own life to cope with". Also, not only will they react negatively towards you, they will take the higher ground with any circumstance by going "well he's got clinical x and x, so it's probably him"

Both scenarios will put a person needing help, back many years instead of forwards
