He hasn't made lots of individual mistakes, just needs to be part of a settled defence

In those nine games he has had:

Drury, Lappin and Tierney as left back partners.

Ward, Whitbred and Turner as centre back partners.

Martin and Naughton as right back partners.

So that's eight different players over nine games (There might have been more, correct me if so) , how can you expect him to build an understanding when the defence is changing so rapidly?

If he was consistently making Barnett or Ward style howlers then maybe there would be a reason to worry, but he hasn't made too many mistakes. The only shocker he had was against Man City, I think we can forgive a young inexperienced player for that 'crime'!
