This is how the my averaged Official Prediction System models have the season ending:
Position, Team, Goal Diff, Points
1 Fulham 190 114
2 Swansea 190 114
3 West Brom 114 114
4 Chelsea 76 114
5 Man Utd 76 114
6 Man City 38 114
7 Newcastle 38 114
8 West Ham 38 114
9 Arsenal 0 38
10 Reading 0 38
11 Stoke 0 38
12 Sunderland 0 38
13 Aston Villa -38 0
14 Southampton -38 0
15 Tottenham -38 0
16 Everton -76 0
17 Wigan -76 0
18 Liverpool -114 0
19 Norwich -190 0
20 QPR -190 0
Obviously the headline there is Fulham's run-away league win, and Swansea's miraculous Champions League qualification.
No-one should be surprised by Everton's lowly 16th place finish - they don't have the money to compete at the sharp end any more, but eyebrows will be raised by Tottenham's failure to outperform Everton in terms of points-per-game.
Man Utd will be unhappy about losing out to Chelsea on alphabetical countback, but that's what happens over the balance of the season.
Reading should be delighted with a top-half finish at the end of the 4th quarter of the season, especially when you consider they match Arsenal goal-for-goal.
Finally, a word about our relegation. The manner of it may be unsatisfactory, but it's inevitability should now be clear to all.
Thanks.
