Different managers have different strategies. Under Langbert we quite often played the diamond and the players are used to that after 3 years. It feels more natural and the players know their jobs. Playing 4-5-1 requires a different discipline from when it is actually 4-5-1 and when it switches to 4-3-3. If we are going to play this system we need our wide midfielders to be able to push on when we get possession. On the plus side we looked much better when Benno and Wes were on. I'm not too sure where the Snod fits best into this system and think that we miss Fox rather than rely on defensive hoofing.
Personally I think the diamond is easier on the eye football, but that is the Hoots call now. Let's give the man a chance. My personal choice for manager was Holloway mainly because that's the type of football I like to watch, but it comes with dangers and risks. Once the Hoot sorts out our counter attacking I'm sure we will be fine. Poor old Turner had a mare. We need to get behind the lad next week to make sure he settles. We changed both are CB's from last season and Ruddy and the defensive unit will learn.
