Obama should be vulnerable

He's a much better candidate than president - he promised so very much and has delivered so very little.

And yet Romney can't even energise his own base - the veep candidate will do that for him but no Republican has ever lost for being insufficiently right wing (nor any Democrat for being insufficiently left wing) and he's just crystallised an ideological split that you'd think just has to play for Obama.

Funny business, politics. I think Obama will win comfortable despite an objectively poor first term; I guess the real interest is the composition of the Hill after November...
