it's awful to see though. the gradual decline of village communities as village stores, butchers, pubs et al are snuffed out one by one either by "retail parks" in the middle of nowhere or supermarket giants. theyve opened a tesco in southwold now and apparently costa coffee are going to re-apply for permission to open a store and have warned the council that if they fail they will take it to appeal which they know the council cant afford to contest.
