Well you either get the iOS apps or Office knock offs

Obviously it's not the same as using a desktop and the functionality is limited, but for basic word processing it's fine. The main difference you'll notice is the keyboard, and you may want to invest in an attachable one if you find that's an issue. Personally as far as apps are concerned I'd recommend Pages (like Word) and Keynote (like PowerPoint). I can't comment on the spreadsheets app as I leave Excel work for the PC.
