We all know that Kevin Piper reckons he knows John Inverdale

But if he does (which I doubt) it looks like Piper's trying to get John Inverdale to write to the football magazines in support of Roy Blower running onto the pitch to reinstate John Faulkner as manager. It seems that at first Piper thought he had enough clout himself to get a letter published in both Shoot and Match in support of Blower's one man pitch invasion, but as I understand he's been talked into using his much talked about national sports media contacts to get the pro Faulkner stories in the press.

So now's the time we'll really find out if Kevin Piper knows John Inverdale. I for one have my doubts.
