But you are 100% right in that we need a player of his ilk as our defense will be considerably weaker for not having him. That said the signing of Turner at CB is an encouraging one.

I am concerned that we haven't moved on any of the deadwood. Hughton must have 'assessed' his squad by now yet we still have Lappin, Smith, Barnett, Martin, Crofts on the books. Players that have all been great for us but I can't see contributing effectively at Prem level. must be on a chunk of wages and are taking up squad spaces that could be filled with higher quality additions.
