Maybe, a'la Whitbread, the worry is regarding his fitness-if you can't more or less guarantee at least 25-30 games from an important (and expensive) 1st team player, then do the scales slightly tip against retaining him, as good as he might be (Whitbread) or look to be (Vaughan)?
He deserves his chance-but if after 3 games and a goal he's then out for 6-8 weeks straight away with something, and something thats potentially recurring? Well...
If he does go, we do sure as hell need a replacement though.
