Does any other Olympic sport have the anthems played before competition?

I suspect it is a FIFA thing. In any other sport it is not an issue.

I was getting annoyed with the BBC last night, first trying to claim Wembley is important to each of the home nations (even though there were no Scots or N Ireland players involved) and then that GSTQ is not the anthem of Wales. It is the anthem of the UK of which Wales is part and which they were representing, so this was just plain nonsense.

If they don't want to sing it, fine, I don't sing On the Ball City (if you ever heard me sing you would understand why). It is not compulsory but don't make excuses that are just plain made up.
