I totally understand your point - last night could have seemed a hell of an extravagance when the world has so many problems (couldnt the money have been spent on hospitals rather than trampoline hospital beds?)
But then, think about the power of sport to be a positive influence in the world - its role in putting pressure on apartheid, Owens in 1936, just last night we saw those Arab women allowed to compete thanks to the will of the international sporting community. Think how it was a celebration of sport that brought you here to this site in the first place.
Christ, the above sounds really patronising - I guess I just feel sorry that such a nice guy as you is feeling a bit negative. Hope all's well.
