On the final day, torchbearers will carry the Olympic flame along the River Thames on Royal Rowbarge Gloriana and then it will be used to light the cauldron that will shine throughout the events for 16 continuous days.
Volunteers will showcase a program that will depict British farmers tilling the soil,British families on picnics, and people of Britain playing sports and games on a village green. This event has been entitled Green and Pleasant and will create a picture of England.
Beatles' Paul McCartney will perform along with Bruce Springsteen at a pre-ceremony event.
3 hours ceremony will be the beginning of an hour of culture that will shift to the athlete's parade. The parade will feature new recordings by electronic duo Underworld.
After the parade there will be lighting of the cauldron.
At the end of opening ceremony there will be a fireworks display.
People who would not be physically present during the opening ceremony, there will be 2 short films from the BBC drama department, one of which will feature Daniel Craig as secret agent James Bond to help enhance the ceremony.
