These comments are slightly worrying, I think, in that they fail to address the REAL concerns of many of us. Even if things pick up because 'we all pull together' and 'get behind the team and the manager' and we start to gather a few points, the manger's essential weaknesses are not going to go away. He is tactically naive, worryingly over-cautious, has favourites (Holt, Fleming) and IMHO is pretty limited in terms of his transfer market 'savvy'; we might have landed Drury, Francis, Hux and Ashton but we've also picked up Jonson, Helveg, Jarrett, Doherty, Hughes, Rivers, Gallacher, Easton, Briggs, Notman, Emblen, McGovern, Abbey - not one of whom has, if we're honest, been a real success.
Stability and commonsense are one thing but we have to recognise when a regime (Worthington/Livermore/Foley) has become tired and run out of ideas. They've had five years at it but sadly for the last fifteen months precious little has gone right and we need change NOT stability. However much we stick by him Worthington CANNOT change fundamentally so it has to be goodbye.
