players we are looking to bring in

Was talking to a liverpool fan today and he said something today and it made me think, he said we shouldnt be aiming for the best / upcoming players from the championship but should be buying players from our league or relegated teams stealing the players who only want prem football, now im alwahs very defensive but looking at what other teams are buying it seams we r the only team not 'splashing' money on bigger named players. Do you think we are doing the right thing? I think snods would be a good step BUT what happens if villa or somebody now come in for him? They have more money, willing to spend it? 'bigger team' perhaps we need to realise we r bigger than we think? Just a thought...
