I hope it follows the same path of fortune as The West Wing (and The Wire, for that matter

). Both series were panned early on by critics and audiences in America, and it was only when they came across to the UK that they started to fly.

Similar things being said by critics of The Newsroom, although audiences are good so hopefully they don't pull the plug early like some shows.

It's HBO though, who are usually pretty ballsy, and they've already commissioned series 2. Series 1 is just 10 episodes, mind.
