Wroth travel advice required. Good family friendly hotel on outskirts of Paris?

I'm taking the family for a weeks hol in Brittany in Aug. Thought we would stop for 2 nights on way home on outskirts of Paris and have a full day out in Paris. Then travel up to Calais next day.

So basically looking for a recommendation for a good location on west to north west Paris with decent hotel and close to a rail link into Paris centre.

Not looking for the Ritz just somewhere decent, clean and good for the family.
