Yeah definitely, although I haven't read all of it, definitely recommend Crying of Lot 49

My personal favourite is probably Brighton Rock.

I had a plan to read the wikipedia list of great american novels this year which was scuppered by the fact that the 3 I own already and planned to start with are Gravity's Rainbow, Infinite Jest and Moby Dick, which are all bricks.
