Nah. He had to secure a good wage. Remember he's been lower leagues forever, and

isn't the smartest cookie in the tin.

He will quite possibly have very limited options after he retires from playing. So I do not feel bad about him wanting to secure his family's future for a few years at the ONLY time in his career he will be able to do so.

Yes it is a last payday, but it's a rare case of when it is entirely justified.
