might help if you knew which area you wanted to head for....

i've stayed in some lovely cottages in west wales, cornwall and the jurassic coast (lyme regis area) - best deals are found if you google an area (or local) tourism accomodation website, ie 'west wales cottages' etc etc rather than get a national website.....
