Fewer security exploits, better rendering engine.

(although I think the upgrades in IE9 have nullified that a bit) and pluggable extensions. If you're a nerdygeek like me and building web applications you can use firebug to do deep inspection of browser traffic, events, page elements, etc.

Chrome is better than Firefox, in my opinion, but both are streets ahead of IE.
