dear delia
passionate though you are a few points of yours need to be examined further. take the point regarding injuries. we have had players injured all season and there has been alot of strains and knocks from the start of the season. could this be not due to bad luck but poor preseason training program, poor physio, players being pushed too hard too early. this is a different league then the premiership, it is a marathon not a middle distance event so i think we have to look to those involved in the fitness side of things rather than bad luck.
secondly you say it is difficult to motivate a relegated team. that is a f**king ridiculous statement - these players have tasted the highest level and that should be motivation enough for them to want to get back there quick - not to mention you will no doubt double there wages again if promoted.
investment in the squad this year was minimal. too many players were allowed to leave and no quality was bought in to replace them. here is a point you are missing. all the other teams in this division desperately want to get out of it and into the promised land. while we ponced around in the premiership other teams were improving there squads. from what i have heard we have no passion on the field, no commitment and very little skill shown. if only the passion of the fans was mirrored by the players.
wake up delia and smell the coffee. we the bankrolling supporters are worried very worried. by the end of this weekend we could well be in the relegation zone again
