Was just about to post the same thing reading the above.You only have to look at Liverpool

in the last few years to spot that Gerrard simply can't do all those things

First he had Hamann making him look world class, then it was Alonso, then Mascherano, then Leiva (but it took 2 years for Leiva to get good, and then got injured, and in that time Mascherano left)

Gerrard has been shocking for Liverpool this season because they don't have a senior combative midfielder to make him shine

It's a weakness in his game when all said an done
