You can't possibly want him to stay because it would p*ss off those who want him to go? (I didn't really spot the second reason in there.)

For one thing, you can make a pretty strong case that they were right all along. And it's certainly not the case, as you know, that the calls for him to go started a week ago. Indeed the current injury crisis has just highlighted in gory detail exactly what a lot of us have been saying for months - why on earth did we ship out our entire midfield, and back-up, and barely get in the players do give us a first choice 4, never mind thinking about injuries.

I'm assuming there must be more to come from you.
