Changed from BT to Virgin earlier this year

because BT are simply f**king clueless when it comes to customer service. Even leaving them they f**ked up - they thought they hadn't moved my line over to Virgin when they had and it took me four hours of starting all over again with the explanation countless times to each one of seemingly a thousand internal BT departments before they agreed I was right and they were wrong. I also had a technical issue some time back with DNS on BT which resulted in me (technologically-baffled old bloke) explaining to their "technical" people just how DNS worked.

I get 50Mb where I am and they will upgrade me to 100Mb for free in a few months' time. Installation engineers couldn't have been better, insisting on testing speed not only on my main box but also over WiFi on my laptop and helping me maximise that.

All in all I'm delighted with Virgin. Have no experience of Sky but a mate has TalkTalk and they're apparently good too.

You would need to insert lighted matchsticks under my toenails before I'd ever consider BT again, and even then I'd probably say no.
