WEST HAM have bid ?4.5m for Norwich striker Grant Holt.

The Canaries will reject the offer for their star striker.

But he repeated his intention to quit the club yesterday.

And Premier League new-boys West Ham tried to muscle their way to the front of the queue.

Aston Villa, on the verge of appointing Canaries boss Paul Lambert as their new manager, are tipped to make it a double raid by landing Holt too.

But Hammers boss Sam Allardyce tried to sign Holt before Lambert gets his feet under the table.

Holt, 31, bagged 15 goals this season to help keep Norwich up and earn the club?s Player of the Year award for a third year running.
