Eamonn Holmes on Sky News just now...

... saying he's not surprised by Rodgers to Liverpool, but he is by Lambert looking at Villa... actually surprised at anyone looking at Villa. Not ambitious enough, a middle-of-the-road Premier team going nowhere. Basically saying what we all think.

However FWIW, something clearly isn't right at FCR. First Holty's transfer request (not ALL about the money), then Lambo reportedly walking out. For a tight-nit team under a brilliant up-and-coming manager to seemingly start to fall apart after a brilliant three years, makes you wonder if there's something turning rotten behind the scenes.

The Premier League is where we want to be, however it also does seem to be the ruin of many a person/club. Heads are turned, egos are inflated, self-worth disappears out of all perspective. However, it has saved our club financially, given us the opportunity to watch some of the world's best players, and given us such joy and reward after an incredible three years. Such a double-edged sword being where we want to be.

Whatever happens, life at NCFC goes on. I trust McNally and Bowkett to continue their brilliant and shrewd stewardship. I didn't think I'd be saying this just 24 hours ago, but maybe, just maybe, a breath of fresh air is just what the club needs to push on to the next level.
