Staying up changes the game for me

with the guarantee of year 2 & 3 money I think you got to reward the players you want to keep and pay not too distant amounts to our director competitors.

It's a commercial world and you have to ask yourself as in any business how much would we pay for a person with that CV coming in. If it is ?22k a week then it's still comparatively low compared with his peers. We pay it, he stays end of. If others ask, then address those players on their merits and how they have performed and are likely to perform next season.

I would be happy to sit in on the negotiations and argue fairly for either side if that was the basis of discussion?
