What's the deal with metrification of time?

It's overdue I say. All minutes should last for 10 seconds and an hour should be ten minutes, then hours in a day which belongs in a ten day week nestled into ten week months in a ten month year. There, that's tidied up that mess. Now I will concentrate on the language.
