my memories

got in a bit of a panic about getting a ticket - didnt fancy my chances on the phones - and took a day off work and got a lift up to norwich from london (with some nice bloke who used to post on the old bamford board and looked a bit like clint easton) in the middle of the night to queue for one at carrow road. think we got there about 3am. by the time i got to the front of the queue about 9 my hands were frozen and for a while i couldnt get them into my pocket to take my cash out to pay. i think, although there were massive queues on the day, we neednt have gone to all that trouble and they were still on sale the next day

dont remember much of the game except the crowd, iwans goal and the equaliser, and the shootout which seemed very unfair. I was convinced we'd lose that as soon as we lost the toss for ends. each norwich player looked so small and lonely in front of a huge wall of tumultous brummie blue, like little rubber ducks adrift on the pacific ocean
