I phoned 3 Mobile yesterday

To cancel my mobile internet. The man I spoke to tried to persuade me to stay by offering me a 'free' laptop or iPad. I explained to him the laptop wasnt free because I would be paying for a service I didnt need in order to get it.

He went away to ask his manager if they could do me a special deal to entice me to accept the offer and came back saying his manager was prepared to offer me a free laptop or iPad if I took out an 18 month contract at ?28 a month.

I was only paying ?15 on a 1 month rolling contract. So to get my 'free' laptop or iPad, I would have had to extend my contract by 17months and nearly double my monthly bill, for a service I had no need for....
