They might. It's more likely than not.

All three of last season's relegatees (that's not a word) are in the top 5 of the Championship and the other two are the League 1 champions (winning mentality plus not that long ago in the Premier L) and Reading, not relegated more than a couple of seasons. Cardiff make up the top 6 and they've been nearly promoted a few times now.

So... it seems that to have a chance of promotion you need the money from the PL or to have gone into administration and have your debts written off. Heartwarming stuff.
