re: Ryan Bennett from yistee....

Apologies if I missed some (or most) of the discussion but I did catch a bit of chatter from yesterday about Ryan Bennett not really having been tested yet. I think he's been brilliant, and one specific moment summed it up for me.

Spurs broke out from a Norwich set piece in their half - corner or free kick or suffern, and Bale was steaming away down the left while another Spurs player (I think Lennon but could be wrong) was tearing down to the far post almost unmarked as everyone was trying to get back from the set piece.

Bennett was initially chasing down Bale on our right. As he did so Martin was getting back into position, Bennett spotted the danger from (Lennon ?), handed off Bale to Martin (vocally and pointing), and then legged it diagonally about 40 yards across to the far post and got there in time to head out the cross for the corner as the Spurs player was bombing in for the finish.

Loved it. So young, but had pace, presence, intelligence, organisation and ran his socks off to cut out that threat. I think he will be a top, top player.
