Always get as much memory as possible. As JiT says Apple memory is expensive; but top quality. Crucial memory is too and much cheaper; but difficult for the layman to install. Again, as JiT says, SSD drives are super fast but eye wateringly expensive and if you plan to use it for lots of media (video, music, images, etc.) even 512GB will run out quick (esp. with video). Can of course get external HDs (or NAS) to supplement (and for backup - Time Machine is brilliant - turn it on; forget it)
