So how can Lawrenson be so definitive about Holt?

He's the second highest English goalscorer doesn't this make him the second best striker? If not what other criteria is used to judge a striker? Would Lawrenson be so certain if those 14 goals had been scored while Holt was a Spurs player or Arsenal etc.? It's just the smug arrogant way in which he writes off a players chances of playing for his country, a player who would jump at the chance and play with the same commitment and passion he plays for his Club.
