A very slim chance

As far as I understand it, for the 6th and 7th place sides to qualify for Europe, the League and FA Cups would both have to be won by sides finishing in the top 5 and therefore already qualified for Europe. With Liverpool winning the League Cup and currently unlikely to finish in the top 5, they would take one of the other 2 positions, and the other would either go to an FA Cup winner not finishing in the top 5, or the 6th placed side.

I hope that makes sense, and that Ive got the right end of the stick!
